Pre-intern seminar 2003

The Medical Alumni Association has organised the first 'Pre-internship seminar' on 27th June 2003. The meeting is chaired by Dr Danny TN Leung (Medic 90) and Dr TY Leung (Medic 92). Speakers included Professor Francis K L Chan (Medic 87), Dr C C Chung (Medic 89), Dr David Tjiu (Medic 99), Dr Grace Leung (Medic 02), Dr Rachael Cheung (Medic 02) and Dr Anthony Chan (Medic 02).

K L Chan is now the professor of Medical Department CUHK, and C C Chung is the senior medical officer of Surgery PYNEH. They both shared with the new graduates on ways to maximize the learning opportunities as an intern and how they can select the fields for further training. David Tjiu, who is the medical officer of Surgery UCH and the Chairman of the Front-line Doctors' Union, shared with the audience the difficulties faced by frontline doctors  in Hong Kong. Grace Leung, Rachael Cheung, and Anthony Chan, who just completed their internship,  shared how they found a job and pursued their further training in their career. Over 100 fresh graduates from the medical school of CUHK participated in this seminar and they found the meeting very useful to their future career.
